When you call for your initial phone consult, we can offer you a range of pricing based off the general information you have provided.
Why do I need to remove toys from the pool?
Toys can often block the water flow and circulation in your pool. This can cause damage to pumps and heaters.
What is the importance of maintaining the correct water level?
Water level has to be 1/2 up the skimmer mouth (or 1/2 way up through the tile line) for proper skimming action, filtration, and for the heater to properly work. If the water level gets low enough for the pump to draw air, the resulting heat created in this condition can damage the pump and piping.
Why isn't my pool heater working?
A few things people can check before calling for service for your heater
- Is the heater on?
- Do you have fuel (propane or natural gas)?
- * Did you recently get a fuel delivery?
- Where is the water level in relation to the skimmer?
- Is the skimmer weir (flapper) closed or stuck open?
- Does the heater show a code?
- If you have a spa, was the system left in ‘spa mode’?
- * Failure to properly vent the line after filling will not allow the pool heater to fire.
Why do I need to clean salt cells in my salt chlorine generator if the Ph is balanced every week?
The salt cell should be cleaned every 2-3 months of usage to ensure there are no contaminants present or calcium build up and phosphate fallout. Even though iron flows through the cell it can build up as well.
Without proper cleaning and maintenance these contaminants build up and inhibit the performance of your swimming pool.
Why do I have to empty the skimmer baskets?
Clogged skimmer baskets block the flow of water, which can burn out the pump motor and prevent the heater from working. Skimmer baskets must be cleaned regularly.
What factors should I consider when building an inground pool?
Among the factors you should consider when installing an in-ground pool are interior finishes, tile and coping; filtration systems, heaters, sanitizing equipment, cleaning systems, covers, lighting, automatic controls and landscaping. Our expert staff of in-ground pool builders will help you build the perfect pool so you can enjoy all of the elements for your new pool.

Gunite Pools FAQ's
What is the difference between gunite and shotcrete?
Gunite is a dry-mix process where water is added at the nozzle that allows for better control during application. Shotcrete is pre-mixed wet concrete. We prefer gunite for its higher compaction, lower rebound waste, and better structural density, critical for long-term durability in Northern Virginia's varying soil conditions.
How long does it take to build a gunite pool?
On average, gunite pool construction can take 8–12 weeks. As it depends on weather, permitting, and complexity. In counties like Loudoun or Fairfax, local inspections and zoning can impact timelines. But you don't have to worry as we manages every phase efficiently.
Is gunite better than fiberglass or vinyl pools?
Yes, gunite pools are better for structural strength, lifespan, and customization. With proper maintenance a well-built, Gunite pool can last easily around decades. Guniute allows for custom shapes depth, and integrated luxury features more easily.
How do you prevent cracking in gunite pools?
We use high-tensile rebar, strategic expansion joints, 28-day curing, proper drainage, and site-specific engineering based on soil reports, especially in clay-heavy regions like Prince William and Stafford.
Fiberglass Pools FAQ's
Will a fiberglass pool crack in Virginia's freeze-thaw winters?
No. Our fiberglass shells flex slightly with ground movement, resisting cracks common in concrete pools during winter cycles in areas like Stafford and Fauquier.
How durable is a fiberglass pool compared to gunite or vinyl?
Fiberglass pools are engineered with multiple resin layers for durability. They don’t blister, chip, or tear like vinyl, and they resist long-term surface degradation better than plaster.
Do fiberglass pools require less maintenance than other pool types?
Yes. The non-porous gelcoat surface resists algae growth, meaning fewer chemicals, less brushing, and less overall maintenance, ideal for busy families.
Can I add a spa or tanning ledge to a fiberglass pool?
Absolutely. Many fiberglass models come with built-in features like spas, benches, tanning ledges, and even integrated steps, all available for homes in Manassas and Leesburg.
Infinity Pools FAQ's
Do infinity pools work on flat terrain, or only on hillsides?
Although infinity pools are best suited for sloped yards, we can also build structural platforms to simulate elevation for homes on flatter land like in Woodbridge or Manassas.
How does the catch basin in an infinity pool function?
Catch basins collect overflow water from the vanishing edge, pump it back into the main pool, and must be precisely engineered for flow control and stability.
Do infinity pools increase home resale value in Virginia?
Absolutely. They are considered a luxury upgrade. Especially in the markets like Ashburn, Leesburg, and Fairfax, it makes homes more competitive.
How is wind exposure considered in your pool engineering?
In open, elevated lots (common in Fauquier or Loudoun), we adjust edge height, return systems, and wind deflectors to avoid overspill and water loss.
Lagoon/Grotto Style Pools FAQ's
Are grotto features functional or just decorative?
Grotto features are both aesthetic and functional, often including hidden benches, waterfall entries, or spa seating with integrated jets.
How is sound engineering used in waterfalls?
We shape rock formations and control flow rates to fine-tune the sound of waterfalls, ensuring calming white noise without overwhelming your space.
What materials are used for natural-looking rock features?
We use a blend of carved real stone, faux rock composites, and reinforced shotcrete for durability and natural texture.
